Bureau of Environmental Health

The Bureau of Environmental Health is responsible for protecting the public health by preventing diseases, unsanitary conditions, exposure to toxic substances and other environmental hazards through the enforcement of municipal, state and federal laws. Environmental Health staff monitor recreational water quality, inspect multi-unit housing, hazardous waste facilities restaurants and other food facilities. Environmental Health staff also educate Long Beach residents on the importance of a clean and healthy environment.
The Bureau of Environmental Health promotes and safeguards the quality of life in Long Beach by preventing disease and eliminating environmental hazards.
