Toxics Epidemiology Program

The mission of the Toxics Epidemiology Program is to prevent and control disease associated with toxic chemical exposures in the Los Angeles County population. The program receives and investigates reports concerning toxic environmental exposures. Staff provides consultation services to other agencies and organizations regarding public health implications of specific environmental hazards. In addition, staff collaborates with other agencies in the investigation and control of hazards to public health, as well as devising protocol to handle them. Where appropriate, projects such as health assessments, community education outreach, targeted studies or other research may be conducted.
