What Fish are Safe to Eat?

What fish are safe to eat depends on the area your fish is coming from. Fishing areas in the red zone include Cabrillo Pier, Seal Beach, White Point, Pier J, Belmont Pier and Point Vicente as well as the piers in Santa Monica, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Redondo and Hermosa Beach. Some fishing areas in the yellow zone include the piers in Ventura, Malibu, Huntington Beach and San Mateo Point.

Refer to the map below to reduce health risks associated with the exposure to DDTs and PCBs found in fish commonly caught off the Los Angeles and Orange County Coasts. Health problems associated with the exposure to DDTs and PCBs include cancer, liver disease and effects on the immune and endocrine system.
